June

Dear blog readers,
Mommy
is working
on her book and Daddy is taking Greek, so I'm taking over the
posts this summer.
So far we've been working on potty training (I get 4
marshmallows for tee tee,
and 6 for poop), letters, colors, shapes,
numbers,
signing, and a little
playing:)

This is me sitting on
the counter in
my Elmo panties and Aggie
shirt eating yogurt-covered
raisins...yum!

BaBa, Daddy, and Mommy took me to Lion's Park in Waco to ride
the train.
Trains are one of my favorite things, and the ride was one of
the
highlights of
my summer so far!

I stayed
with Mimi, Coach, Aunt Jaryn, and BeeneBeene while Mommy and Daddy went to
Houston to see a play. They had to stop in College Station to recharge their
Aggie-ness.

We went
to church in the country where Coach preaches. It was very hot on the front
porch.

Nan helped me cool off at Mimi and Coach's house after church.

We all
went to Austin to celebrate Becca's graduation. I loved swimming in the
pool!

I loved
snuggling on the couch with Uncle Brandon...and he didn't seem to mind too
much
either.

Uncle
Brandon, Aunt Sarah, Daddy, Mommy, and I ate lunch at Chuy's. Their queso
with
tortillas is my favorite snack.

On the
way home from Austin I experienced my first Starbucks drink, a strawberry
milkshake. My mouth would not leave the straw, even to nod the answer "yes"
to
tell Mommy how much I liked it. I kept sucking from the straw while I
moved my
head up and down. Isn't my flower headband cute?

Mommy
invited the fourth grade teachers over for brunch and I got to play with my
friend, Emma. I pushed her all around the house in my pink doll stroller.
Emma
and I are going to be roommates at A&M one day! If you look back at
older
blog posts you can see a picture of us last year in our white Aggie
panties:)

Daddy,
Mommy, and I took parent/child swimming lessons at the YMCA for two weeks. I
enjoyed splashing around with the other babies. Thanks to everyone who took
pictures for us!
Daddy threw me high in the air!

I rode
the pink noodle like a horsey!

Mommy
helped me learn to kick my feet in the water!

I'm not
afraid to jump in the pool to Daddy!

We all
love to relax in the Pate's pool.
More
pictures to come soon!
Love,
Ava James Lockett

Catch Up

TAKS is over, the thousands of field trips to celebrate the end of school have passed, and I'm almost free for the summer! The blogging WILL be more frequent, I promise. Please scroll down and catch up with us!

On Valentines Day Ava and I were Truett widows, since Josh had class. We played dress up and Ava scattered silk rose petals throughout the house. If you look back at her pictures from last Valentines day you'll see she's grown a ton! I feel like I have a little girl now, instead of a baby.

One afternoon Ava fell asleep in her highchair during a snack. Such a classic shot that everyone needs to have of their kiddos:) Note the print-rich environment!

Ava had a blast at the Mayborn Museum!

This semester Ava and I spent our Thursday nights with Baba (my mom), and Pops (my dad) while Josh had class. We spent this warm evening running down their hill and playing with bubbles. Ava was sunkissed, and enjoyed "goosing" the goose.

For Mother's Day Ava and Baba planted a flower bed for me! Pops and Josh worked on our yard. It's not a jungle anymore!

We took Ava on her first boat ride on Sunday, May 11. The weather was cool, and we had a blast!

Ava and Uncle Nate fed the goose some bread. When the goose was finished Ava signed "all done" for him.

This post is full of Christmas, first birthday, and a bath. The holidays and TAKS test have absorbed all of my blogging time! I promise to post more after March 5...unless any of you are interested in helping me grade 63 essays a week. Ava is growing into a very sweet toddler. She can say dada, mama, kitty, doggy, necklace, bye bye car, bites, that?, and no. She can identify nose, eyes, mouth, ears and bellybutton. She signs more and eat. Her favorite things to do include turning on off the light switch, popping bubbles, taking baths, feeding the neighborhood pets on the back porch, eating kiwis, and swinging outside. She can also give sloppy kisses. I can't wait to be home with her this summer. We are planning to play, and swim, and visit many friends!
