Ava's first summer is coming to an end. Josh and I have loved being home with her, and taking her on many trips. We spent time in Rockport, and Ava caught her first glimpse of the ocean. She touched a real live bunny! Daddy swung her to sleep in the comfy hammock. We also spent time with her new cousins, Aiden and Brayden. As much fun as summer is, we are all ready for a new season. Ava will be spending her fall days with Daddy and Great-grandma at home, and fall nights on crisp walks around the neighborhod with Mommy. We love our sweet girl!

Summer Fun!

Ava looks tiny in her new high chair, but she loves to sit in it. She seems to know that if she's in it, it's time to eat. She also went swimming for the first time! She loved the water and was VERY happy, despite the fact that she was cutting her first tooth. She's the apple of our eye!

6 months old

Ava is almost 6 months old now! She is a very happy baby. We are spending our summer visiting family and friends...and sleeping in. When we let her, Ava sleeps until 10:30 in the morning! She isn't crawling forward yet, but she's scooting backward AND pulling up. I keep telling her that, according to Montessori, she has to crawl before she walks. I think she'll be okay either way. We are still enjoying our summer. I had some teacher friends over for lunch while Ava played with Emma. It was fun to see what Ava will be doing a month from now. Are we ready for her to be mobile? (I'll be adding more pictures from our playdate, the site was being really slow.)

Sorry it has been so long since our last post. The end of school and Sarah's wedding kept us all very busy! Ava is four months old now, and she's still as sweet as ever. The top two pictures were taken by her Mimmie one Wednesday night. The second two were taken on a trip to Salado with the girls. The next picture was taken as Ava watched The Little Mermaid for the first time. In the next two Ava is being her silly self! The last two pictures show Ava eating her first vegetable, Butternut Squash. She loved it! We are teaching her to use sign language, and she can already mimic the sign for "more" when she is eating. We love our smart girl, and I promise to update more frequently!
